Recently, the Foreign Student Education Management Research Committee of the Jiangsu Higher Education Society officially announced that our university has been awarded the title of 2024 Advanced Collective for International Student Education in Jiangsu Province. This marks the fifth consecutive year our university has received this honor. Additionally, one teacher was recognized as Advanced Individual in Foreign Student Education Management in Jiangsu Province, and another was honored as Outstanding International Student Counselor in Jiangsu Province.
In recent years, the university has steadily expanded its recruitment of international students from key regions such as Africa, Central Asia, and ASEAN countries. By strengthening partnerships with overseas institutions and implementing joint enrollment and segmented training programs, the university has transitioned to a cooperation-driven model for international student education. This approach has not only stabilized enrollment numbers but also improved the quality of international student intake. In 2024, the university collaborated with foreign government agencies and higher education institutions, including the Ethiopian Ministry of Labor, the South African Department of Higher Education and Training, Indonesia's Jember State Polytechnic, and Thailand's Thanyaburi Rajabhat University. These partnerships enabled the enrollment of 144 international students in programs such as Numerical Control Technology, Software Technology, and Cross-border E-commerce.
In terms of education and teaching for international students, the university has leveraged provincial-level internationalized brand programs, municipal and provincial foreign expert studios, and international Chinese language teacher training bases to continuously enhance faculty development and program construction. These efforts have provided a solid platform and opportunities for improving the quality of international student education. In 2024, the university passed the Ministry of Education's Quality Certification for International Student Education in Higher Vocational Education with outstanding results.
Building on this achievement, the university will take this opportunity to further align with the Quality Certification for International Student Education in Higher Vocational Education. While steadily expanding the scale of international student enrollment, the university will continue to enhance the quality of student training, aiming to comprehensively elevate the level of internationalization in education.
