During the session on Exploring High-Quality Development Paths for US-China Vocational and Technical Education Cooperation, Liu Chang delivered a presentation titled Co-Cultivating Applied Technical Talent and Co-Building an Industry-Education Integration Ecosystem: Exploratory Practices in Dual-Spiral US-China Vocational Education Cooperation. She systematically introduced the university’s accomplishments in collaboration with U.S. partners, emphasizing the promotion of in-depth cooperation in fields such as smart manufacturing and artificial intelligence through a spiral interactive mechanism involving standard leadership, platform co-construction, team integration, and resource sharing. Leveraging national-level platforms and provincial-level foreign expert studios, the university has dispatched nearly 40 faculty members to the United States for exchange programs. Additionally, initiatives like the 2+1 dual-degree program have strengthened students’ international competencies. Looking ahead, the university plans to expand cooperation into emerging areas such as cross-border e-commerce and new energy vehicles, advance mutual recognition of curriculum standards, and co-develop digital resources, injecting new momentum into the synergistic development of US-China vocational education.
During the event, representatives from both China and the United States engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the development of digital teaching resources, the establishment of cross-border sharing mechanisms, and technology-driven teaching innovations.
Moving forward, the university will leverage platforms like the Jiangsu-US Vocational Education Alliance to upgrade US-China cooperation from project-based connections to systematic co-construction. It aims to establish regular collaborative platforms in key areas such as smart manufacturing and digital technology. By co-building international curriculum resource pools and jointly conducting faculty training programs with U.S. institutions, the university seeks to substantially enhance the quality of cooperation and talent cultivation, thereby injecting new vitality into the sustainable development of US-China vocational education collaboration.
