Recently, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education announced the list of selected projects for the Chinese + Vocational Skills teaching resource development initiative. Our universitys project, “Chinese for Cross-Border E-Commerce, was approved for inclusion.

In recent years, leveraging the Silk Road Chinese Language International Chinese Education Research Center, the university has been actively exploring the path of Chinese + Vocational Skills. We have established a three-dimensional training system built on language foundation, skill empowerment, and cultural integration, forming a distinctive practical approach. In curriculum development, the university has focused on key fields such as cross-border e-commerce and smart manufacturing, breaking down barriers between language education and vocational skills. We have created an integrated curriculum matrix combining Chinese + professional skills + cross-cultural literacy, developed a series of bilingual and fully English-taught courses, and achieved precise alignment between Chinese language teaching and vocational needs.

Currently, the cross-border e-commerce markets in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and other core regions along the Belt and Road are experiencing an annual growth rate of over 25%. There is an urgent overseas demand for compound talents who are proficient in Chinese and skilled in technology. The development of *Chinese for Cross-Border E-Commerce* resources will not only provide standardized teaching materials for overseas institutions, facilitating the export of Chinese vocational education standards and technical norms, but also meet the training needs of Chinese enterprisesoverseas employees. By enhancing both Chinese communication skills and cross-border e-commerce capabilities, it will support the global expansion of these enterprises.

Moving forward, the university will take this project approval as an opportunity to further refine and promote teaching resources, continuously improve the Chinese + Vocational Skills education system, and share the outcomes with overseas partner institutions and enterprises. We aim to contribute to the deepening of vocational education cooperation under the Belt and Road framework and promote the development of digital trade between China and other countries.
